Dear Glebe Families
What an action-packed week we’ve had here at Glebe! The festive season is well and truly underway and it’s been a joy to hear the Christmas rehearsals fill the school with holiday cheer. We are all looking forward to the start of our performances next week.
It’s been another busy week for football too and as always, we are so proud to showcase our children’s talent and sportsmanship on and off the pitch.
A special congratulations to our choir for their wonderful performance at the Christmas Lights Switch-On last night. They sang with such energy and festive spirit! I was deeply disappointed to miss out on this occasion due to unavoidable personal circumstances, but I know they did us proud.
I’d also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our leadership team and all our staff for their continued dedication. A particular shout-out to Mrs Johnson and Mrs Rose for stepping in and leading the school so capably while Mrs Coote and I were unable to be here.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend, can you believe next week marks the start of December?!
Warm regards
Mr Clarke

Fortnightly Focus: Diffusing the Situation with Respect
This fortnight, we’re focusing on how we can show respect by calming down situations when things get tricky. Sometimes, we might feel upset or angry, but it’s important to stay calm and listen to others. We’ll learn ways to talk kindly, think before we react and find peaceful solutions. By showing respect for ourselves and others, we can turn difficult moments into chances for kindness and understanding. Let’s work together to make our school a place where everyone feels safe and respected!
Here are some examples of how we can do this:
Influential Figure of the Week
Roger Bannister was an English runner. He won many championship races in the 1950s, but he is best known for being the first athlete to run a mile in under four minutes. Many people thought that it was physically impossible to run a mile in less than four minutes. Roger Bannister proved that it could be done.
Music Moment of the Week
The film Chariots of Fire tells his story, so the music moment for this week is the title song from the film soundtrack by Vangelis.

On Sunday, Sienna and Elsie took part in a Winter Wonderland Competition with their gymnastics squad. Both girls performed brilliantly, especially on the vault which was a more difficult one for this competition. They had the best time and enjoyed the day with all of their friends and new friends they made!
Both girls received a certificate of participation and Elsie placed 5th in her group and also received another certificate for this. Well done girls, you were both amazing!!
